Set Up & See all your iPad Notifications

Set up notifications Display the way you want to be alerted

There are many different ways for notifications to appear on your iPad’s screen. In addition to having no alerts, you can choose to see them as banners (they appear in a small bar at the top of the screen) or as alerts that appear in the middle of the iPad display.

You can choose to show the Badge App Icon and an alert sound and you can also toggle an individual notification so that it does, or does not, appear in the Notification Center app screen. You can also choose how many of the most recent items for any particular alert you want from one to 10 and you can decide if it should appear on the Lock Screen.

In order to do any of this, you need to begin by going to Settings>Notification Center and then tap on the name of the app you would like to configure. The beauty of the iPad is it lets you decide how you want your device to be run, so don’t feel like you have to abide by its rules. Take control and make up your own!

See all your notifications

You can prioritise what appears in your Notification Center in Settings. But if you want to go through everything then simply tap on the All tab while in your Notification Center and everything will be presented in one long list for you to peruse at your leisure. This is good for when you have a little extra time on your hands and want a general overview of everything that’s going on in your life. If you want to delete anything that is display in your Notification Center then all you have to do is tap on the ‘X’ icon next to the notification and it will be removed from the list, keeping things nice and tidy.

See your missed notifications

You may well get a fair few notifications throughout the day that you do not get a chance to do something with. If this happens to you and you end up missing something that may well have been important, you only need to bring down the Notification Center menu and look along the tabs across the top.

In addition to the Today and All tabs is a tab for Missed. To access this tab all you will need to do is tap on it, then you will see any notifications that you didn’t manage to catch the first time around. Tapping on a missed item will activate it. This is quite a handy feature to have, and will result in your never missing anything important ever again thanks to yet another great iPad function. If you have caught all of your notifications then this screen will be mercifully blank.
